About PickMyPower

PickMyPower is an independent comparison site for retail electricity plans in deregulated Texas. One job: help you find the plan that costs the least at your actual usage, in English or Spanish, without making you decode marketing.

Where the data comes from

Every plan you see here comes from the State of Texas's official database — the state's public record of retail electricity offers, maintained by its utility regulator. We refresh it every day, and every city page shows the date its data was last updated. Provider contact details in our directory come from the state's certified provider filings. We don't accept payment to list, hide, or reorder any plan.

How we rank plans

By estimated monthly bill at the usage level you choose — not by advertised rate. Texas plans are priced with base fees and usage-threshold credits that make headline rates misleading; ranking by your estimated total bill, computed from each plan's own Electricity Facts Label pricing, cuts through that. Our guides explain the mechanics if you want to see the math.

Estimates are estimates: we interpolate between the three price points every EFL discloses (500/1,000/2,000 kWh). Your exact bill will differ. Always read the plan's official EFL — linked on every row — before enrolling.

How we make money

Two ways, both disclosed: advertising that appears on the site, and — potentially — referral fees if you enroll with a provider after clicking through from here. Referral relationships never affect rankings, which are pure arithmetic on state-published prices. If a ranking ever looks wrong to you, the EFL link on the same row is the check.
